Lyle Moore surprising the audience and Glee Club by stepping in from the audience to direct in place of Walford Nelson, 1946

During World War II, Lyle Moore was granted a leave of absence to serve as a flight instructor at the Ryan School of Aeronautics in Hemet, California. Tom Skeffington and Walford Nelson stepped in as directors of the Glee Club during this time. At the start of the fall of 1942, student extracurricular activities declined. Glee Club performances were limited, as many of the students were serving in the war. There is not much documentation of the Glee Club activities during this period. Normal activity of the Glee Club resumed in 1946.
